
About the Environmental Science Research Society
Environmental Science Research Society, founded in December of 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia, is an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization established to promote ecology and improve environmental protection. Our work focuses on scientific research, knowledge sharing, and education related to the environment, sustainability, and responsible use of natural resources.
We aim to connect science with real-world solutions by supporting research, publishing scientific work, and encouraging public discussion on environmental challenges.
Society Mission and Goals
Our main goal is to promote ecology, environmental protection, and sustainable development through science, education, and practical action. We work to make scientific knowledge more accessible and relevant to both professionals and the wider public.
What Society Does
To achieve our goals, we:
- Publish an international, multidisciplinary scientific journal in electronic format, Environment & Science, dedicated to environmental protection, ecology, sustainability, and related fields;
- Organize national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and public lectures;
- Publish books and other scientific and educational materials in line with applicable regulations;
- Collaborate with universities, research institutes, schools, professional associations, and organizations worldwide;
- Support scientific research and encourage young researchers and early-career scientists;
- Award prizes for outstanding scientific papers and doctoral theses in relevant fields;
- Promote ethical standards in scientific, academic, and professional work;
- Organize volunteer activities such as environmental clean-ups, tree planting, and other actions aimed at improving environmental quality.
Academic Publishing
As part of our mission to promote scientific knowledge, we publish the electronic scientific journal Environment & Science with open access.
The journal serves as a platform for multidisciplinary research and knowledge exchange in environmental and sustainability-related fields.

Management Board:
The Management Board is the executive body of the society, responsible for implementing the objectives set out in this statute.

Assembly:
The Assembly meets regularly once a year. An extraordinary session may be convened upon a reasoned proposal of the Management Board or at the initiative of at least one-third of the members of the Assembly. Such an initiative must be submitted to the Management Board in written form and must specify the issues proposed for discussion.
The session of the Assembly is convened by the President of the Management Board through a written notice specifying the time and place of the meeting, as well as the proposed agenda. The session is chaired by a person elected by public vote at the beginning of the meeting.
The Assembly:
- adopts the work plan and program;
- adopts the statute and any amendments thereto;
- adopts other general acts of the society;
- elects and dismisses members of the Management Board;
- reviews and adopts, at least once a year, the report of the Management Board;
- reviews and adopts the financial plan and financial report;
- decides on status changes and the termination of the society;
- decides on joining national and international alliances and associations.
The Assembly has decision-making authority when at least one half of the members are present.
Decisions are adopted by a majority vote of the members present.
Decisions on amendments to the statute, status changes, and termination of the society require a two-thirds majority of the votes of the members present.
Membership
Membership is open to anyone who supports the goals and values of the society. Applications requests are submitted electronically via email to esrs@environmentandscience.com .
The decision on admission to membership is made by the Assembly, which informs the applicant without delay.
Membership may be terminated in cases of long-term inactivity, violation of the society’s rules, or actions that harm its reputation.
Members have the right to:
- Participate equally in the activities of the society;
- Take part in decision-making through the General Assembly;
- Elect and be elected to governing bodies;
- Receive timely and accurate information about the society’s work.
Members are expected to:
- Actively support the goals of the society;
- Participate in activities according to their interests;
- Pay membership fees;
- Carry out tasks entrusted by the governing bodies.
